Paediatric formulas (WETFLAG)

  • Weight:
    • APLS (5th ed)
      • Weight 0 -1 = (Age/2)+4
      • Weight 1 -5 = (Age x2)+8
      • Weight 6 -12 = (Age x3)+7
  • Energy
    • 4J/kg (could consider increasing if refractory VF/VT)
    • Syncronised cardioversin 1J/kg
  • Tube (ETT):
    • Size: Age/4 +4 mm (+3.5 if uncuffed).  Size 3 newborn.  Size 4 1yo.
    • Length: Age/2 +12 cm
  • Fluids: 10-20ml/kg of NSaline.
  • Lorazepam /Midazolam (Seizures): 0.1- 0.2mg/kg IV/IO/IM.  0.3mg/kg buccal
  • Adrenaline: 10mcg/kg or 0.1ml/kg of 1:10000.  Amiodarone 5mg/kg.  Atropine 20mcg/kg.  Adenosine 0.1mg/kg up to 0.3g/kg
  • Glucose: 2-5ml/kg of 10% Dextrose
